"The end of learning is to repair the ruin of our first parents by regaining to know God aright, and out of that knowledge, to love Him, to imitate Him, to be like Him." - John Milton, Puritan Poet

Joining the Homeschool Mother's Journal

 The Homeschool Mother's Journal

I haven't blogged in such a long time and I feel so out of touch.  Things have been so different with new baby on the hip and hubby's new work schedule that blogging has been put on the back burner.  I miss it so much.  So I logged on for the first time in a while and found this!!  And oh, I am jumping on, for sure.  I need to unload a bit, just to share my heart, and hopefully to receive some encouragement.

I know I'm not alone when I say that homeschooling is HARD!!  I can't do it alone... I need God's help in this!  So, thank you Sue, for the button.

 The Homeschool Chick

Now, In my life this week, many things have gone wrong!!  First, computer woes!  And I mean big woes.  I can't even turn it on anymore without getting a message that its INFECTED!!  So typing on this computer is a bit strange.  Second, my hubby is starting to work a LONG month at work without any time off, and when this happens... things go crazy!  We cringe and hold our breath during these times.  First, the computer, then the van door won't shut, the men working on our road cut our underground dog fence, and now I'm sick AGAIN!  UGH!

And not to mention my week with my son...

Other than all of that, things are great.

In our homeschool this week, my platypus finally finished his unit on Fractions.  Did he master this?  Well, I have to say he did rather well, even if I had to strangle him a few times...Just kidding!  He also finished another unit of his Grammar, which he is doing pretty well in.  Another thing that we started this week, that we've never done before, is  Progeny Press Literature discussion questions for The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.  If you've never tried these, I would tell you to check them out.  What I like about them is that they discuss the book from a Biblical perspective.  And they are a bit tough!

My favorite thing this week, was the fact that I didn't have to go out too much during the week.  Busy weeks make me crazy.

What's not working for us?  A lot!  But that can wait for now...

A homeschool question I have...  When do the struggles end??  Where are those smooth days that I am so desperate for??

And finally, the Scripture that I am always falling back on...

Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross , and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.  For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?  Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?  For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works."  Matthew 16:24-27
 Happy Homeschooling!

So, Are We Still Homeschooling??

Well, yeah!  Just haven't had the time to post anything about it!  I am just now making the time to check out my blog(s), and I miss it so!!  Unfortunately, right now I don't have enough time to post anything to tell what's been going on.  Will come back as soon as I can.  I do have some things to share, what God has been doing in me lately!  Just now, I need to get to the burning burgers on the grill!!!!!!

Until next time...
